It was around that time, yes. But I don't think it's possible that the Ministry was able to convince all the writers of magical history to tell the story just to discredit you. They even had eyewitness accounts from those you imprisoned. Still... if there's one thing the community has proven to me, it's that things can still change and alternate timelines can form.

I don't see it like that. There's a possibility that some Muggles wouldn't understand magic, some might want to abuse it for their own use, while others would be jealous of our abilities and... hold it against us.
