I told Professor Dumbledore what I did now that I'm back at school. The one in my time, I mean. I told him what I did, why I did it and that I would be handing in my Prefect badge. I know acted rashly and childishly, and... I won't be surprised if Potter never wants to speak to me again. I told Professor Dumbledore I don't deserve to be a Prefect anymore because I sunk down to Potter's level, and maybe even a bit further than that. I turned into a bully, like the students I stand up to on the behalf of those who get pushed around, simple as that.

And he made me keep my badge. He told me that it was a human reaction and even the best of wizards have acted on their tempers. It was strange, but before I left he said something about "sadness flying away on the wings of time" and not forcing forgiveness. ...Bit odd, that. I don't see why I would force him to forgive me....

[Locked to Remus]

When you see this, can you meet me outside the History of Magic classroom? I have something to talk to you about and it's very important.

Yes, I'm a good friend of his.

[identity profile] flower-of-lions.livejournal.com 2011-01-03 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you really? Who might you be then?

[identity profile] darklycharming.livejournal.com 2011-01-03 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Gellert Grindelwald.

And you are?

[identity profile] flower-of-lions.livejournal.com 2011-01-04 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Lily Evans.

...Your name sounds familiar. I can't quite place where I heard it though.

[identity profile] flower-of-lions.livejournal.com 2011-01-04 09:22 am (UTC)(link)
No, it wasn't from him.... Maybe it was a book in the library.

[identity profile] darklycharming.livejournal.com 2011-01-04 09:26 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps. Some others here appear to know something about my future. One in particular was quite disagreeable about it.

[identity profile] flower-of-lions.livejournal.com 2011-01-04 09:35 am (UTC)(link)
Really... hm. Oh, this is going to bother me now.

[identity profile] darklycharming.livejournal.com 2011-01-04 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
Your options seem to be asking Dumbledore or checking the library. I'd tell you myself but I am unceratin as to why that Black fellow had such negative things to say to me.

[Suddenly, a brown fingerprint appears on the page. Someone's eating a Chocolate Frog while writing~ And soon after, splatters of ink appear just below the fingerprint where her quill fell. In having realized who she's talking to thanks to a certain Chocolate Frog card, she seems to have accidentally activated an audio function.]

[identity profile] flower-of-lions.livejournal.com 2011-01-04 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my God... you! [That is not a happy tone of revelation at all. If anything, it's something like fear and anger mixed together.] I can't believe I was so stupid! I missed it entirely! [She pauses for a moment, before anger overrides the fear.] "For the greater good." As if!

[identity profile] darklycharming.livejournal.com 2011-01-04 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Did you remember something?

Albus did say we should do things for the greater good...

[audio]

[identity profile] flower-of-lions.livejournal.com 2011-01-04 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes... I found you on the back of Professor Dumbledore's Chocolate Frog card.

Perhaps in a different sense, but you can't go around oppressing people or... doing what you did to them for "the greater good"! It's just wrong!

[audio]

[identity profile] darklycharming.livejournal.com 2011-01-04 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[He sounds eager...]

Oh? What does it say?

[... Then surprised]

What? I am trying to stop the oppression of the Ministry. Them and their ridiculously old fashioned laws.

[audio]

[identity profile] flower-of-lions.livejournal.com 2011-01-05 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
...It says "Considered by many the greatest wizard of modern times, Dumbledore is particularly famous for his defeat of the dark wizard Grindelwald in 1945, for the discovery of the twelve uses of dragon's blood, and his work on alchemy with his partner, Nicolas Flamel. Professor Dumbledore enjoys chamber music and tenpin bowling."

[Ooh, hang on there just a tic. She's not quite sure she likes the sound of that.]

The oppression of the Ministry?! What old fashioned laws are you talking about?

[audio - he's speaking English but has a slight Germanic accent]

[identity profile] darklycharming.livejournal.com 2011-01-05 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
[incredulous]

Defeat?

[a long pause]

The Statute of Secrecy, of course. The law that keeps all wizards in hiding away from the Muggles.

[audio - noted o7]

[identity profile] flower-of-lions.livejournal.com 2011-01-05 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
[She's quiet for a few minutes, the sound of book being rifled through audible. It stops suddenly and is replaced by soft murmuring until she finally replies.] You had been noted to do some horrible things in your quest, before he defeated you and then you were locked up in your own prison, Nuremgard. Apparently, you're still there.

And if you don't mind my asking, why do you not like the Statute of Secrecy and want it done away with? Why do you think the magical community would be better off without it?

[audio]

[identity profile] darklycharming.livejournal.com 2011-01-05 10:43 am (UTC)(link)
I am going to assume that this happens in the 1940's since that is the time that other fellow mentioned. That is forty years ahead in the future for me so I have no idea how much of that is the truth or hearsay invented by the Ministry to discredit me. I would not put that past them.

As to the Statute. I, for one, do not like to have to hide myself away like I am some creeping creature. I think that all magical beings should not have to pretend that we don't exist due to some ancient, out-dated fear. We should be able to freely roam where we want and perform magic where we want. The Ministry do not even give the Muggles a chance to accept us considering that they automatically erase the memory of any Muggle who even glimpses anything magical. How is that fair to either us or them?

[audio]

[identity profile] flower-of-lions.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
It was around that time, yes. But I don't think it's possible that the Ministry was able to convince all the writers of magical history to tell the story just to discredit you. They even had eyewitness accounts from those you imprisoned. Still... if there's one thing the community has proven to me, it's that things can still change and alternate timelines can form.

I don't see it like that. There's a possibility that some Muggles wouldn't understand magic, some might want to abuse it for their own use, while others would be jealous of our abilities and... hold it against us. [Something in her voice turned somber there, before she returns to her normal tone.] Not all Muggles are like that though. My parents know what I am and they still love me and have been very proud and supportive. No Ministry representative has ever come swooping down to wipe their memories.

[audio]

[identity profile] darklycharming.livejournal.com 2011-01-06 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
So you are Muggleborn? I suppose in those cases the families have to know and have to acccept.

For those Muggles that don't they would have to be shown that we will not be so easily murdered or used as the Ministry fears or has been allegedly done in the past. Some Muggles may have to be restrained or taught better until they can accept it.

[audio]

[identity profile] flower-of-lions.livejournal.com 2011-01-08 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
I am, and I'm proud of it.

But if Muggles are restrained in the name of showing that the magical community means no ill will, isn't that a contradiction?

[audio]

[identity profile] darklycharming.livejournal.com 2011-01-08 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
That would go for any wizards as well. Anyone who tried to destroy the peace.

It would only be done when necessary.

[audio]

[identity profile] flower-of-lions.livejournal.com 2011-01-08 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose that makes sense, but you were imprisoning people who did nothing but oppose you. Is that such a crime?

[audio]

[identity profile] darklycharming.livejournal.com 2011-01-08 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Rebels need to be taught a lesson. Perhaps in prison they could think about the future and how much better it would be with my plans set in place.

Wouldn't it be better if your parents did not have to hide what you are from all their Muggle friends and neighbours as I'm sure they would have to do under the present Ministry, am I correct?
