I'm starting to think I shouldn't have Confunded Potter to keep him from crashing Slughorn's party last night. But can you blame me? I didn't want him butting in. I have a boyfriend and he seems to enjoy trying to hex them or scare them off.

Anyway, as soon as Dad and I got in the door, Mum told me to change into something smart because Tuney's boyfriend was coming for dinner. So while Mum finished setting the table the doorbell rang. I answered and there was this young man, bit older and taller than me and Tuney, and also rather... heavy. Before I could ask who he was, Tuney rushed right by me and pulled him inside. So I went and asked Mum and she said, "Oh, Lily, I thought Petunia told you already. That's her boyfriend, Vernon Dursley. She broke up with David a few weeks after you left for school."

Then Mum introduced me properly to Vernon, we all sat down for dinner, and I didn't have much to say for the rest of the night except to say goodnight when he left. I don't think I've ever seen my sister so happy and in love with someone before....

But this means that Tuney could be Harry's aunt. He said his uncle's name was Vernon. I want to believe that it's just more of a coincidence, that maybe the surnames don't line up. But deep down, I think there is no coincidence. I think I might be Harry's mother in the future. But James is his father. But that means...

Oh, Merlin's beard, no! I wouldn't. I could never. It's impossible. Maybe when I wake up in the morning, I'll find out this is some awful nightmare. If it is, I swear I'll try to be nicer to James next time I see him and I'll never use a Confundus Charm on him ever again.

Yeah, Sirius knows. It... It was technically his video. We just. I mean, we thought it would be better to keep it from James, in the long run. Well, the part about the two of you, at least.

...Sirius is capable of maturity, you know. I'm really not just telling you that he is just because I want you to like him, it's the truth.

If he's been able to keep something that would send Potter over the moon with glee... I think you're right. There might just be a slice of maturity inside him that I've never seen before. If only he could show it a little more often.

I'm still trying to think through everything else I've learned and figured out today. Forgive my lack of modesty, but this is one time I wish I wasn't so clever.

Professor Dumbledore told me to choose my friends in the future wisely and not to place faith in Peter Pettigrew. But as clumsy as he is, he's still fairly bright. And I've noticed how much Potter, Black and even you have been skirting around him a bit, for at least a couple months. I can't help but feel bad for him since he doesn't know what he did to offend you all. If it's related to the future, as I'm starting to think, do you think it's fair to mistrust and exclude him now, when he hasn't yet done any of you wrong? Or it's even possible you could keep him from following the path that supposedly makes him untrustworthy.

I'm sorry to dump all of that on you, but it's just what I believe. It doesn't sit well with me when I see someone being avoided by those they once counted as friends. However, the reasoning behind it is none of my business, I know that much. Everyone has the right to choose and cut off their friends as they wish, which is why I never said anything until now.

I don't know if changing him is possible or not. I mean, you've got to believe me, I want it to be possible. He's... He's not a "bad" person. He's just... He's easily swayed. And I know that in another future, we stayed friends like we were then, and he betrayed you. So...what else am I supposed to do? How are we supposed to feel around him? I realize it's not fair, Lily, but. How the hell are we even supposed to begin describing any of this to him?

...sorry. I. I shouldn't have gone off on you like that. I just. You have to understand, the situation is less than ideal.

It doesn't sound ideal... not at all. ...And I'm assuming his betrayal was what killed me, and Potter too? I'm... not sure, Remus. I don't know anymore. I always thought friendships should be rock-solid, able to stand the wear of time and hardships.

It's fine, Remus. This is all very sticky and complicated.

It...yeah. It did. He... He betrayed your location to Voldemort, and when Sirius went after him because of it, he... He blew up an entire street and then framed Sirius for all of it. And Lily... Sirius ends up in Azkaban for this. So. I understand what you're saying, but. Really, you can't blame us for not really knowing how best to handle the situation.

That... that's awful. I would never wish Azkaban on anyone. How could he? I. You're right, I can't blame you. But maybe... I could try to help him. Try to keep him from doing wrong. I won't tell him what I know.
