I'm starting to think I shouldn't have Confunded Potter to keep him from crashing Slughorn's party last night. But can you blame me? I didn't want him butting in. I have a boyfriend and he seems to enjoy trying to hex them or scare them off.

Anyway, as soon as Dad and I got in the door, Mum told me to change into something smart because Tuney's boyfriend was coming for dinner. So while Mum finished setting the table the doorbell rang. I answered and there was this young man, bit older and taller than me and Tuney, and also rather... heavy. Before I could ask who he was, Tuney rushed right by me and pulled him inside. So I went and asked Mum and she said, "Oh, Lily, I thought Petunia told you already. That's her boyfriend, Vernon Dursley. She broke up with David a few weeks after you left for school."

Then Mum introduced me properly to Vernon, we all sat down for dinner, and I didn't have much to say for the rest of the night except to say goodnight when he left. I don't think I've ever seen my sister so happy and in love with someone before....

But this means that Tuney could be Harry's aunt. He said his uncle's name was Vernon. I want to believe that it's just more of a coincidence, that maybe the surnames don't line up. But deep down, I think there is no coincidence. I think I might be Harry's mother in the future. But James is his father. But that means...

Oh, Merlin's beard, no! I wouldn't. I could never. It's impossible. Maybe when I wake up in the morning, I'll find out this is some awful nightmare. If it is, I swear I'll try to be nicer to James next time I see him and I'll never use a Confundus Charm on him ever again.

Lily... I know that you can't see it yet, but. James really is a good person. And he might not yet, but. I have it on good authority that he really will love you, eventually. He's not always going to be the same obnoxious 15-year-old you know now, yeah?

...Good point. Using Love Potions or the Imperius Curse doesn't seem his style, especially as he probably would have attempted one of them by now.

No, definitely not his style. He wants you to like him for him, not because of some sort of trick. I just hope...that you finding this out now doesn't change how things work out for the pair of you in the future...

I think...that maybe the best thing to do from here would be to just try and see James for James. I mean... I know that that's not going to be an easy task, or anything like that, but. At least one version of you liked him, so. I. I wouldn't be so quick to throw the idea out the window as impossible, you know?

Yeah, it might be possible later on.... But that's if he ever speaks to me again after what I did. He didn't bother me at all during the train ride home or as we were all leaving King's Cross Station. He didn't even look at me....

I used a Confundus Charm on him to make him think I kissed him. I know it was selfish of me, but he was threatening to crash Slughorn's party and I know he would have made it miserable for me, my date, and especially Sev.

I don't know why I'm so worried about him, I'm sure he'll be fine by the time we come back from break.

Oh. Well, there... There was a virus, and it showed... Well, I got a glimpse of what was to come. And then I talked to Dumbledore about it, and well. That situation. That's how I found out.

There's a reason I haven't told you about it before now, Lily. It's... It's difficult, knowing what could be. That's why I didn't tell you about James, or James about you. Because...I didn't want to interfere. If it's supposed to happen, then it will happen.
